Cruise Day 8 - St Petersburg, Russia - Part 2

Wednesday, July 23 - 11:27 a.m.

We got a little extra rest this morning, as our tour didn't meet until 9 a.m.  We got up early and went upstairs to the Lido deck for breakfast and then wandered off the ship and through immigration once again.  This time it took no time, as many people only did a one-day excursion on Saturday, while those who did 2-day trips had the second day leaving at different times.

Our tour today started at the Hermitage Museum.   I'm not even going to attempt to explain what anything is at this point because there was just so much we saw while we were there.

The ceilings weren't the only ornate details we'd see throughout Russia... Check out the floors.

And the doors, too...

The museum is home to a beautiful Michelangelo statue...

Everything in this giant museum makes you feel small.  Julie felt particularly small...

After the Hermitage, we went to the Church of the Savior on the Spilled Blood.

After the church, we went to a local restaurant where we had a lunch consisting of a tomato and cucumber salad, chicken with rice and peas, and some sort of unidentifiable dessert.

Following lunch, we visited the St Peter and Paul Fortress and Cathedral...
